by observing the existing paddington central...
the center was extremely quiet like a dead place comparing outside surrounding area such as cafes where people sit together and make noise and alot of movement.
the inside of the center seems like it was tried to make an street scape shop environment internally but the interior was quite dark and many of the shops or offices on the upper floor looked empty.
what would make the space better through proposed design... will be the main consideration...

- paddington central is the main suburban centre where fulfill half of above listed in 2012 but at the same time they are the business which will be replaced with the online business towards 2030

Latrobe Terrace were converted into small shops in the 1980s and accordingly Paddington has a vibrant shopping scene for speciality shops of all types including fashion (clothes, shoes, male and female), food (chocolate, cheese, alcohol and organic), home wares ( bathroom supplies and hardware) and entertainment ( new and secondhand book stores, picture framing, video stores) and is largely devoid of the larger “chain” shops. -wikipedia

- i guess it is to be considered how it will effect to the area if half of above business are removed or relocated as these are one of the main character of paddington district.

- charater of paddington...?
paddington was formed since 1860s. as the district formed over steep ridges and hills. houses are frequently built on stumps, owing to the steep nature of their blocks. and with the history of the area, many original and distinctive queenslander homes can be found in the suburb

the area is one of the most popular location in brisbane because of the history, easy access to CBD area, education and  life style

seems like the life style in paddington is more socialised place than any other districts as an example there was a bar table infront of the lawyer's office instead of a fence..

the impression also i've got was that there are alot of cafes for example outside seating cafe infront of launry, cafe with souvenior shop and cafe with hair salon looking down towards the hill etc..

and also there are many antique shops around as it reflects that the area has a long history.
