individual project one statement

wthin 20 years a computer chip will be embeded to everyone by their choice and will become common to embed as it replaces I.D and credit card and also body status checkup over the internet.
within 50 years, the chip becomes compulsory and the shape of existing districts will be changes because of, 1^st, the natural reasons such as sea level changes and earth moving and 2^nd ever since chips were embed to human body, people fulfilled their need and stayed home longer until they don’t need to come out often, rather than shopping, meeting, visiting hospitals in different place, people tried to resolve everything at once at one place, “central hub”, each districts will be reformed in reasonable size surrounding the central hub.
Central hub is the energy hub in other words, the substation for each districts where creates energy from the natural resource, sun, wind and water.
the health hub, where people can see the specialist. Community hub where people meet each other and interact. Education hub. And market hub, as it is located in the centre of each hub it is the most suitable place everyone.
Especially the Paddington area is specialized in fresh market opens every day for people who would lie to see and buy the fresh veges and fruits themselves rather than purchasing over the net and disappointed.
the vertical farm is not just a farm to grow veges and fruits.
it is also the water filtering facility. as the grey waters from the residential area flows down from the top to bottom floor the water gets filtered from the natural resources and also works same for the rain water. 
it is the research center that investigates for better, bigger and fresh food.
and it is a learning centre where the only place that young ones can learn the nature and interact with elderly people at the same time learn the knowledge from them.
as people stays at their home, demand of private vehicle diminished public transport which connect hub to hub will be upgraded to accommodate more people and faster. 
hydro energy will be used most of the time the CO2 emission will drop down, all resources and wastes will be reusable to make the earth life longer people don't need to find another planet to live.








 

above was the scenario my group created for last 4 weeks. but in my opinion, once people too rely on the technology made for convenience and try to stay at home.  if the only way to contact and get a relationship is through the internet or the virtual world, in that virtual world people doesn't know how old you are and who really you are.. (poster left from the movie 'surrogates')
it is an issue even to these days because of the people who breaks the rules of ethic and moral right hide behind the internet. it will be a huge problem in the future..
ever since internet has been developed, people may earned their convenient life style but they may loose one of the human sense "touch". it is not just a physical touch but the touch made through the eye contact, caring someone right beside to or interaction between people.
without a human sense, different ethic and moral right, the meaning of human life would not be the same.

week 5 reading | architecture as a dissident Practice

the first requirement of the architecture would be the form and function,
form as how beautiful the building is and function as physical use of the building.
but the collaboration with artist gave another option of the function, the cultural production / experience.
building as a big scale sculpture where make a difference to people’s lives, where fulfill the form and function, it is the architecture i believe.

week 5 | scenario development architectural possibility

in year 2060
- a chip will be embeded to everyone. it will be used as an ID, credit card and body status which can be used over internet.
- people fulfill their needs through the internet. people work and make purchase over the internet therefore people would not be coming out of their place often.
- because of the life style of the people there are much less private cars in future but much easier faster public transport will replace it.
- land use and districts will be changed because of the raised up sea level.
- each districts will be formed around central community hub where people physically interact with others.
- each districts have their own characteristic such as industrial, commercial, educational, farming and residential.
- eventually elderly people will live surrounding the central hub because of the easy access to the hub where the hospital and other activities made.
  young people live out side of the districts where interaction made with other young people from the districts next to. 
- vertical farms will be built around the central hub since there are not much land left in the districts because of the high population. it will be a green park, farm and water filtering system.
- vertical farm will be run by the elderly people. they will educate younger people and interact with younger generation.
- fresh picked veges and fruits from the vertical farm can be purchased at central hub.

week 4 reading | Politics and the Situationist International & Architectural Weaponry

most of time people remembers beautiful buildings from the past or the present time.
future scenario/buildings what people imagine today are different what people imagined in twenty years ago even-though they imagine the same future time (2050 for example) because of the image in people's mind are often affected and drawn by the technology and the trend they have in their time.

likewise the buildings and the background in the sci-fi movie 'Total recall' made in 1990 and 2012 are different because they are reflecting the trend of 1990s and 2010s.

the the meaning of aesthetic is usually drawn by the trend of that time.
maybe the trend in the time of the period is the aesthetic of today and future...?

week 4 | scenario development life style

first half an hour the group discussed the and created three other scenarios which is totally different our main theme to make optional story and also to back up the main theme.

1. main theme online/virtual life chip placed inside body, which works as a ID. credit card and main source of living.
each cities formed with central hubs. series of these hubs create a districts and distribute the city wider.

2.atomic bomb. killed half of the population. people moved out from cities where were attacked because of the nuclear radiation the land become useless and unable to live.

3.computer virus destroyed technology the human race going back to ancient life.

4. sea level raised up 35m land sank under the water. Paddington is one of the land remained above sea level.

another half an hour we discussed about the changed life style after the virtual evolution and how the hubs/districts forms (circles on left top) and affects on human life.

group made a story line based on a family, member-ed with two children (one infant and one teenager highschool-university student) mother, father and grand parents.
discussed about their lifestyle, routine and habitation within the hub life.

week 3 reading | the continuous partial everywhere

social networking
it's good to see and know how are people over seas who i have known for long time but have not heard from them for a while, doing well. and let people know where and what i am upto.
until 15 years ago people lived well and kept in touch with their friends without the latest technology. it may brought us the bond between people but now they cannot live without their mobile phone...? is it good or bad..??

week 3 | Sustainable Futrue

on week 3 my group developed the virtual scenario we had on week 2 and applied to Suburban future scenario.

o   Now – Microchip technologies being researched and tested.

o   1 Yr – Online shopping used by 50% of the population.

o   5 Yrs – Virtual Offices being used in majority of cases.

o   10 Yrs – Chips fo ID and Credit Card usage offered.

o   20 Yrs – Chips used as a personal database for all information.

o   50 Yrs – 100% chip reliant population used fo all aspects of life.

as per the time frame above we believe virtual/online living will be the main source of purchasing within few years and people would not go out often to fulfuill their need,
except very limited activities such as physical connection including social dining/drinking, exercising and medical attention etc..
another reason that people would not be so active outdoor would be the increase of  the old age population.

within 10 years people will place a chip into their body for their ID and Credit Card usage just like the movie 'Minority Report' uses eye as an ID source.

and since then the chip will be developed to work as a personal database for all information including ID, Money, telecommunication, memory data and body status which would be similar theory as the movie 'In Time'. 

so people would not need to have a wallets or bags to carry other stuffs.
their medical checkup can be made online through the chip but for the detail check up need to be in person.

the Paddington area itself will be a residential community hub.
all shops will be a place where people fulfill people's physical connection or and activities.

cities/community hubs just like Paddington will be distributed over Australia.

week 2 reading | Warning Written in Stone - our future & Greenwashing - our future past

Maybe we are carving on the stone now, warning about the global warming and greenwashing is our future past which would prevent the disaster might come.

just like Fumio Yamashita said , an amateur historian,
"As time passes, people inevitably forget, until another tsunami comes that kills 10,000 more people,”

as an architect, it's our roll to suggest the clean energy / efficient design and keep act on the problem we have got now such as pollution, global warming or over population on certain area etc..

otherwise tsunami will hit us all oneday badly...

this can be explain as a confliction between vegan and meat lovers maybe..?

week 1 | future architecture

My future architectural image is a building that floats in the air and can be placed anywhere in the world without limitation of the space. It does not necessarily need to be tall or big but at the same time they can be stacked up together and form a tall building or placed separately. And with this arrangement people can form a new town/community anytime anywhere on any circumstances.

There will be no more traffic problems as CBD can be distributed easily over the country and as all building will have own eco system that creates electricity and with water tank that filters the grey waters back to clean waters, there will be less pollution issues.

Individual or a group of residents can travel around while they are staying at their home there would be a new air travel rules other than airplanes but similar.

It also can be used as a house, hospital or a school for refugees if there are any disasters in the world.
